Time, We Pass Through It

Yes, we pass through time.

For many years I have voiced and been of the opinion, I do not have enough time to do the things I want to do and the things I love.  I am not sure exactly when I changed my mind about this.  Change my mind I did.

I have often said time passes so fast. I have found myself saying, this year passed so fast.  Where did it go?  I have also told myself, time heals all wounds.

It was such a revelation when I discovered time does not pass us by, we pass through time.  That revelation was like a physical blow to me.  What do I do with this thought?

When I think about time, I try to think how long in the past time has been and how long in the future will it go?  For me, time does not pass it is static, like a tree.  It goes through changes, however,

it does not move.    I can use an analogy to explain.

Think about time as being a long and continuous road.  This road has sharp curves, steep hills and fast downhill slopes.  It also has lots of flat even road.  Now consider you are traveling on this road.  When you are turning a sharp curve this is like life has given us something unexpected, good or bad.

When we are on a steep hill, we are experiencing big challenges in our life.  This can be difficult; however, there are valuable lessons here.   When we are on a downhill part of the road we are in the zone and all is fantastic.

The flat road is where we are most of the time.  Life is precious and good.  Not bad and not good.

While we are on this road we experience all aspects of life.  It is so important to remember and understand at some point we will get off this continuous road of life.

The road will continue however we will not.

When I understood this, I knew I had a finite amount of time to do whatever I intended to do.  It is important to me to do it now because as I pass through time, my time will end.

Honor yourself!
